Just playing around with some of the new features of Skitch.  I can now bring in maps and add notes to them so I thought I could see how that worked from my smartphone.  Kind of neat.  Not sure how many times I’ll use it but still neat.

Health Park Specimens

Our local health park had a fancy celebration event planned for the evening, in the theme of an African safari.  It was quite a sock to see these guys in the main hall as I was waiting for my mother-in-law to get out of surgery.

Caught My Eye

I had some father and son time with my son Justin.  We decided to hit a local Barnes and Noble store.  While he played with the new Nook HD, I spent some time just walking around the place.

Lost in the eTranslation!

There is something about browsing a book store that on-line stores just can’t replicate.  The ability to go isle by isle and find little gems likes this one just doesn’t work on screens, regardless how much they think the eCommerce sites can improve on the shopping experience.

Early Marching Band Practice

I dropped Jon off at the High School for the prep for the state competition for Michigan marching bands.  The first thing you notice is that the stadium lights were on.  The band will go through their routines before getting on the buses and drive to Detroit’s Ford Field.

End of Game

High School football regular season games that end in a victory are rewarded with a fireworks celebration.  I usually stick around so my youngest boys get a chance to see them.

Exercising Good Habits

Well I’m almost at that stage of having a habit I miss if I don’t do it regularly   I’ve added walking on the treadmill on a regular basis into my routine.  I do notice it when I miss several days.   I’ve even started the process of raising the elevation ever 5 to 10 minutes so that my work out moves more into the fat burning stage then just cardio.  I typically walk 3.5 mph for 30 to 50 minutes when I hit the health club.
